The Children's Challenge was established in 2017 by Stephen Lamacraft. As a father of four young children, Stephen loves little more than seeing families sharing special memories together. It is the sheer joy of watching children push themselves further than they thought possible, whilst supported by parents and friends, that continues to act as the inspiration for The Children’s Challenge. 

Stephen is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys sharing ‘character building’ experiences with his children, whether scrambling, sailing, paragliding, walking, wild swimming or mountain biking. The aim of The Children’s Challenge is to give others this opportunity through centrally organised community Expedition Societies. Corporate support through Virtual Challenges and the direct sponsorship of Expedition Societies is essential to make this aspiration a reality.
