Exmoor - 10/12 May 2019

Event now closed to new entries.

This event consists of three challenging routes designed for primary school children when accompanied by a parent/guardian.

The event spans a weekend. Participants will pitch tents on Friday before setting off early Saturday morning. There are three circular routes of 13.5km, 18km and 23.5km respectively. Departure will be Sunday morning. All meals, other than lunch on Saturday, are provided. A freshly baked packed lunch can be ordered which will be delivered to the campsite early Saturday morning.

Exmoor can experience poor weather and strong winds. The terrain is undulating. Sponsorship from employers, friends and family will be well earned. As those that undertook the 2018 event will attest, this is a tough event. However, it should be immensely enjoyable and rewarding.

There is an aspiration for each family to raise at least £100 for a charity of their choice. It is recognised that not all families will be able to achieve this so families should raise what they are comfortable with. The event is designed to be as inclusive as possible.

This year the event is generously being supported by St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation. St. James’s Place (SJP) will match any sponsorship raised for their Charitable Foundation. For those that are undecided as to which charity to support I strongly recommend raising money for the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation given all funding is matched pound for pound, all administration costs for the Charitable Foundation are covered by SJP and their focus on supporting young people with special needs, combating cancer and supporting Hospices is tremendously worthwhile. Please see “Sponsorship” for further details.

The price of the weekend is £55 per participant. Please see 'What we Provide' for further details.
